Constructivism and DDD-E model
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog.
This week's project is about constructivism and ddd-e model. Constructivism is a theory in eduaction based on observation and scientific study; observing how people learn.
We all know that teaching has changed a lot during this years. If a teacher wants his/her teaching be effective, it should be based in some good learning theories. It is important to stress that learning is an active process, which means that you should totally engage on what you are learning through experimet or real-world problem solving. In this case knowledge is shared between teachers and students. Teachers have the duty to teach to students different subjects and to do exercises in order to be more easier for them to understand what they are learning, so in a way or another they share knowledge. But there are not only teachers who share knowledge, students also do the same thing by learning and getting new information. In this way they share that knowledge with one another.
Many teachers divide the class into groups, so students will be able to gather more information and listen to one another ideas, in this way they will learn how to work with other people and not only in individual. This learning groups usually consist of a small number of heterogeneous students.
In a constructivist classroom learning is interactive. It is build on what the student already knows, which means that we have studend-centered rather than teacher-centered. Teachers have dialogues with students , helping them construct their own ideas and if they have something unclear they are free to ask.
The use of videos , audio texts are usual in a constructivist classroom. They are used in order to encourage the use of multiple modes of representations , so students will be able to present their projects in a totally new way. It will be more clear even for the other students , who are listening to them.
Teachers should wait time after posing the questions. When theh ask students about something they should give them some time to think what are they going to talk about and what examples they will use.
I think that constructivism is a very helpful method because those activities help a lot even in our everyday life. We can learn a lot from them and remember things better , not only reading theory because memorizing something not always helps you to remember things for a long time.
DDD-E model is about Decide, Design, Develop and Evaluate
Deside is about what kind of project you want to do.
Decide is about using tools to shape the structure of the project.
Develop is about pulling together all the material we found, on the project.
Evaluate is about reflecting on our own success.
